Hike & Bike Trail Site: These two trails are looped through the Cielo Grande Recreational Area starting and ending at the parking lot located at 1612 West College Blvd.

Description: The first trail is 1.0 mile long adjacent to the parking lot and circles the soccer fields and field house. The second trail is 2.0 miles long and loops to the southeast corner of the park. Both are lined with trees and are furnished with resting benches and water fountains. The scenic view to the west gives the park its name, Cielo Grande, meaning ‘Big Sky.” Future plans call for these trails to connect with the Spring River Parkway a few blocks to the south. The trails were built with City and federal funding.

Rules & Regulations: The trails are subject to City Ordinances which regulate use of our parks. Dogs are welcome, but must be on leash and the owners are required to pick up after them. Bicyclists are asked to yield to pedestrians. All users are requested to deposit litter in receptacles. No unauthorized motor vehicles are permitted on the trails.

Hike & Bike Trail Site Location
: This trail runs diagonally along the Hondo River Corridor. The western terminus is located to the east of Yucca Recreation Center where Hendricks Street crosses South Main. The eastern terminus is located behind the Roswell Boys and Girls Club where the Hondo River crosses East 2nd Street.

Description: The trail is approximately 1.5 miles long and runs along the channel of the Hondo River which bisects the southern half of Roswell from southwest to the northeast. The idea behind this trail was to provide a safe walking and biking trail between Yucca and the Boys & Girls Club. The trails were built with City and New Mexico Legislative funding.

Rules & Regulations: The trails are subject to City Ordinances which regulate use of our parks. Dogs are welcome but must be on leash and the owners are required to pick up after them. Bicyclists are asked to yield to pedestrians. All users are requested to deposit litter in receptacles.  Some portions of this trail are closed when flooded. No unauthorized motor vehicles are permitted on the trails.

Hike & Bike Trail Site Location
: This Hike & Bike Trail is approximately 2.5 miles long and is located on the east side of South Main Street from the Cemetery entrance to the main gate into the Roswell International Air Center.

Description: The 2.5 mile trail is an extension of the wide sidewalks running 1.0 mile from Hobbs Street south to the Cemetery entrance and was designed to provide a safe paved pathway for commuters to the Roswell branch of Eastern New Mexico University and the industries located on the Roswell International Air Center. The RIAC is the former Walker Air Force Base and contains many educational and manufacturing facilities. The trails were built with City and New Mexico Legislative funding.
